Professor Muraino Olayiwola Oso, the distinguished professor of communications and scholar, who died on Saturday 24 June 2023 (9 October 1955 – 24 June 2023), exhibited unwavering commitment and tireless efforts in advancing the cause of human rights. With a remarkable career spanning four decades, he actively contributed to the promotion and protection of human rights in Nigeria.
As a scholar, he delved into the intricacies of media, governance, and development, leveraging his academic expertise to address issues related to democracy, social justice, and the role of the media in fostering human rights awareness.
