Apply to attend the award presentation ceremony for the Tenth Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting
The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) calls for application from Nigerian and African investigative reporters to secure sponsorship to attend the decade anniversary of its investigative reporting award presentation ceremony holding on Wednesday 9 December 2015 in Lagos, Nigeria.
Application deadline: Friday 20 November, 2015 by 3pm
The Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting was first held in October 2005 to encourage the development of an investigative tradition in the Nigerian media through rigorous scrutiny of human rights violations, regulatory failures and corruption in the public and corporate sectors of the nation’s life. The initiative has since blossomed in local and global reach.
Note:
A total of 10 reporters will be selected (5 from across Africa – one from each region and 5 from within Nigeria)
Participants who live in or around Lagos State are unqualified to apply for the sponsorship but welcome to attend the award ceremony as it is open to members of the public
Sponsorship will cover cost of return ticket, accommodation, meals and visas as may be required
Female reporters are encouraged to apply.
Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
